Tyler, The Creator Mourns The End Of Donald Glover’s ‘Atlanta’

Tyler, The Creator has mourned the end of Donald Glover‘s hit FX series Atlanta which aired its series finale earlier this month.

Sharing a screenshot from one of the final scenes, Tyler took a moment on Twitter to share his appreciation for Donald Glover’s work.

“Was legit sad knowing it was coming to an end,” he wrote. “love this show, this moment was great. congrats on making some specific and special.”

Atlanta aired its final episode titled “It Was All A Dream” on November 10.

The Flower Boy rapper has always been a fan of Glover’s work both in television and in music. Tyler took to Twitter at the end of 2020 to share some of his favorite music from that year and gave a special shout-out to a track off Childish Gambino’s 3.15.20.

When a fan pushed back and noted the album’s tepid reviews, Tyler, The Creator said he didn’t care. “Cause he tried to be all secret and cryptic like a dickfuck,” he wrote on Twitter. “people missed out on some really cool shit, to me at least.”

Tyler’s Atlanta mourning comes one day after he also opened up his Golfwang store in New York City on Wednesday (November 16).

Tyler celebrated the opening by emphatically sharing the address to his new store. “35 HOWARD ST NEW YORK, NY 10013,” he tweeted alongside three shining star emojis.

As for music, Tyler, The Creator was recently spotted on the set of Pharrell’s “Down In Atlanta” music video shoot in October, hanging out alongside The Neptunes hitmaker and Travis Scott, and Freddie Gibbs recently said he’d love to do an entire project with the Odd Future leader.

“We can do it Tyler,” Freddie Gibbs told the Rap Caviar podcast, repeating his name. “I’mma call his mama and make it happen. She’ll get him to do it.”

He continued: “I love Tyler man, he’s such a fuckin’ weirdo. It’s like, how can you not love a guy like that? He’s like a little brother to me, but I look up to him at the same time too. Cuz I see the things that he does and I’m like, ‘What the fuck!’ It’s amazing, he has no fear!”

On the acting side of things, it was announced that Tyler will be playing the role of Jesus in the new season of Netflix’s Big Mouth.

Returning for its sixth season, the acclaimed animated series broke the news that Tyler had joined the cast with a prayer in a tweet. “In the name of the father, the son, and Tyler, the Creator plays Jesus in Season 6.”
